Making a bet
Multi-hand Blackjack plays the same as single hand Blackjack.
Your chips are stacked by denomination (£1, £2, £5, £10, £20, £50 and £100) at the bottom of the game screen. To play a hand, select the amount that you would like to wager. Click on the hand that you would like to play. Each time you click on the hand a chip is added to the chip pile. Remember, when you "Play for Real" every chip you place corresponds to £1 in real money.
You begin a hand of multi-hand Blackjack by placing up to 3 bets on the table as described above. You will then receive two cards face up. The dealer will receive one card face up. Once the cards have been dealt you can do the following (provided your hands value is less than 17) by clicking on the options for each hand:
Insurance When the dealer’s first card is an Ace, any player who has a score of 21 with their first two cards (Blackjack) will be given the option of taking insurance. The player may opt for insurance by clicking on the "yes to insurance" button. This will apply to all the players’ hands. If you do not wish to accept insurance click the "No to insurance" button. If the player opts for insurance they place a side bet of half their original wager. If the dealer is dealt a 10 (ten) ranking card the player is paid 2-to-1 on the insurance bet.
Split A possible split will occur when two cards of the same denomination are dealt. Whether the cards are split or not is determined automatically and is based on a defined strategy table. Please see the "Blackjack Strategy" section to view this table.
When the split occurs players will have the option to double their bet and bet on both hands or leave their bets unchanged and just bet on the hand which was formed from the first split card. Once the split occurs you will have two individual hands to play. The split option will only be used once per hand. When splitting aces the player will only be dealt one more card. Any winning 21 hand formed after a hand is split will be paid at 1-to-1
Hit When clicking on hit you are requesting another card. You can request another card as many times as you wish, but when your card count reaches a hard 19, you will not be permitted to draw any further cards. If your card count exceeds 21 you will bust and lose the game.
Stand When clicking on stand you are requesting that no more cards be dealt on that particular hand.
Double The double is only offered when the hard or soft card count equals 9, 10 or 11 on the first two cards of the hand. When clicking on double the following will happen: - Your original wager is doubled - You will get one more card - Your turn ends Once the players have played their hands it is then the dealers turn to play their hand to 17 or bust.
Winnings At this point the system checks to see which hands have won and which hands have lost. All payouts will be made immediately after the dealer cards have been played. Once the payouts have been made the table is opened for another round.
